LDI Use Cases in Practice: How LDI Architects are Applying the Model
Author: LDI Team
Last year at Relativity Fest Chicago, LDI founding members led two panel discussions that focused on the emergence of Legal Data Intelligence, early case studies of the LDI model in practice, and insights into the role of LDI on AI adoption. Since then, LDI Architects have been busy refining the model and releasing new resources, and they’re excited to bring their learnings and experiences to four new sessions for Relativity Fest attendees.
Together, these sessions will touch on a range of themes that are at the heart of what it means to be an LDI leader today: enabling data-oriented legal professionals to take on fundamental data challenges across practice areas, making material impact by accelerating business and streamlining cost, transforming data into actionable intelligence for senior decision-makers such as GCs, CLOs, and law firm partners, and making strategic career moves as AI adoption gains traction across industries.
Here’s a detailed description for each of these sessions:
From e-Discovery to AI Governance: How Legal Data Intelligence Leaders Are Shaping the Next Transformation
As generative AI accelerates enterprise transformation, legal, compliance, and governance teams face a familiar challenge: catching up to technology that’s already reshaping the business. This session explores how Legal Data Intelligence (LDI) professionals—those with deep expertise in e-discovery, privacy, legal operations, and information governance—are uniquely equipped to lead the charge in AI governance.
Drawing parallels to past inflection points like GDPR and the rise of short message data in e-discovery, panelists will unpack the emerging AI governance landscape and offer a practical roadmap for building resilient, cross-functional governance frameworks. Attendees will gain insight into how LDI skillsets translate into strategic leadership roles in AI oversight, and why this moment represents a new frontier for legal data professionals.
When: Tuesday 10/7: 3:00pm – 3:45pm CT
Speakers: Adam Rouse (Senior Counsel and Director of eDiscovery Operations, Walgreens), Lourdes Fuentes (CEO, Karta Legal)

The discussion will emphasize the pivotal role of contracts in MA&D transactions, sharing best practices for contract review, due diligence, and integration. Attendees will gain actionable insights—and an understanding of the LDI team’s specialized toolkits—to help them navigate and manage the complexities of corporate deals and the contracts that underpin them.
When: Wednesday 10/8: 3:45pm – 4:30pm CT
Speakers: Odette Claridge (Engagement Manager, ProSearch), Virginia Ring (Principal, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton), Tara Lawler (Partner, Morgan Lewis)
Then vs. Now: How Legal Data Intelligence Could Have Changed the Case
What happens when you apply today’s Legal Data Intelligence (LDI) lens to yesterday’s legal challenges? In this interactive session, we’ll revisit a real-world case—one where data complexity, siloed teams, and reactive strategy led to missed opportunities. Then, we’ll reimagine the same case using the LDI model to explore how a structured, insight-driven approach could have transformed the outcome.
This session will:
- Introduce a foundational case study that contrasts traditional and LDI-informed approaches
- Spark conversation on hot topics and points of debate from the LDI community
- Teach how to break down silos, engage with other departments, and deploy an LDI mindset on future matters
Whether you’re new to LDI or helping shape its future, this session will challenge your assumptions, sharpen your strategy, and inspire your next move.
